My name is Melanie and I live on Willow Road in Warren, Indiana. From a very young age, I have always shown a love for animals. I am a nine year 4-H member. I have experience showing cattle, sheep, chickens and cats. I have travelled to Belize, Costa Rica, Mexico and the Galapagos Islands to study marine ecology and environmental sustainability. I also spent two years living in Mexico working with Bottlenose Dolphins and California Sea Lions. While there, I obtained my certification in animal training through the ABC Animal Training Program.
I graduated from Ball State University with a bachelors degree in science and I currently teach Biomedical Science and Biology to high school students.
I am dedicated to breeding to breed standards and strive to produce kittens that have great temperaments and are healthy and loving. I love to travel and look forward to traveling to Europe to import new Kings and Queens to expand the genetic diversity within my breeding program.
All of our kittens are raised in my home and receive an abundance of attention and affection from myself and my three children. Every kitten is socialized extensively and are exposed to a variety of noises and stimuli such as the vacuum cleaner, television, our dog, etc. to prepare them for their new home.
None of our kittens or adults are caged and they always have free access to roam, relax and play! Our cats are first and foremost our pets. Their happiness and well-being are our top priority. Because the health and safety of our pets is our number one concern, we are a closed cattery; visitors are not allowed to interact with the kittens until they have had two rounds of vaccinations, once at 8 weeks and then again at 12 weeks. This policy helps prevent the spread of unwanted diseases to all of our young kittens and also keeps momma and babies happy, safe and healthy.
Kittens are guaranteed healthy, when leaving our cattery. All breeding adults are tested and cleared for 50 major genetic health defects via genetic testing through Wisdom Panel. Each kitten is clear of these diseases by parentage. Each kitten is also vaccinated twice, once at 8 weeks and then again at 12 weeks to help combat feline rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and panleukopenia (cat distemper). Kittens are also dewormed several times help rid and prevent hook worms, round worms , coccidia and Guiardia.
